The Association
Identity
How the Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association (H.F.A.A.) came into being and the nature of its work as a non-profit scholarly association.
The Hellenic Finance and Accounting Association (H.F.A.A.) began as an idea shared by a group of professors, who met to explore the possibility of establishing a scholarly association that would bridge the communication gap between academics working in finance and accounting.
Foundation
At that meeting the participants expressed their unanimous wish to create such an association. The necessary steps to meet the formal and substantive requirements for its establishment were then planned and completed within a short time.
The Association’s Statute was adopted by the founding assembly on 23 November 2001 and bears the signatures of its 29 founding members.
A non-profit association
The Association is a non-profit organisation. Its income derives mainly from members’ contributions, as well as from the support of organisations and businesses, and is used exclusively to pursue the Association’s aims.
